Lockheed Martin executive Stephanie Hill, an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 list for 2015, has said one of her goals is to raise awareness of the benefits of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education among young people, The Daily Record reported Monday.

Hill, vice president and general manager of Lockheed’s information systems and global solutions civil business, has been working to attract students to find careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math, according to the report.

“At Lockheed Martin, I have had the opportunity to make a difference in a way that I never imagined,” she told the Daily Record.

“Our nation is at a crisis level when it comes to producing scientists and engineers,” Hill said.

“I want to do all I can to let our young people know that they can have a similar, rewarding experience in STEM,” she added.
