cyber, computerThe U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology has sought information on potential vendors that can help develop a risk scoring system for the agency’s information technology platforms, FCW reported Friday.

Mark Rockwell writes NIST is interested in collaborating with the private sector to assess and monitor cybersecurity risks through a continuous monitoring initiative at the agency.

Rockwell said the agency wants an industry partner who has worked on e-governance and risk and compliance tools and is familiar with the agency’s risk management and cybersecurity frameworks.

NIST could acquire IT risk assessment tools and related technical services through a competitive process, according to the report.
