Sarah Allen, chief human resources officer at Leidos, said the company’s veteran employees are central to its mission to provide science and technology support to the government, health and engineering sectors.

“The talent and expertise our veterans bring to the important work we do at Leidos every day plays an integral role to our company’s success,” Allen said Monday.

Leidos is among the recipients of The Military Times’ Best for Vets Employers in 2015 awards and is ranked 44 out of 74 companies with scores in areas such as company culture, recruitment and career transition support.

The company reports veteran employment at 15 percent of the workforce.

One of its military veteran outreach programs, called Operation MVP, is led by Mike Bruni, Leidos talent acquisition manager.

According to Leidos, it also engages in partnerships with service groups, military associations and related community organizations, as well as mentorship of veterans through employee resource groups.
