DeltekDeltek estimates the number of solicitations for multiple public sector services at the state level were up 6 percent in April from the previous month.

Alexandra Howden, an analyst at Deltek’s general government services division, said Tuesday majority of the contracting opportunities last month were for higher education, professional services and information technology.

Among all U.S. states, California accounted for 11 percent of all solicitations issued during April, followed by Texas at 9 percent and Virginia at 6 percent, according to Deltek.

Howden noted the state of Oregon has issued a request for proposals on value-added IT hardware services.

The state of Indiana released an RFP for a labor exchange and case management system and the city of Chicago posted a computer software training services RFP.

All three solicitations are due within the month of May.

The state of Texas will accept bids for a debt finance and management platform and support services contract through June 1.
