Big Data, AppsExelis has integrated its ENVI image analysis tool into a DigitalGlobe cloud-based big data platform with the goal of helping government, academic and commercial users gain insights from geospatial information.

The combined offering is designed to offer clients access to Exelis’ analytics software and DigitalGlobe’s catalog of high-resolution satellite imagery collected over a 15-year period, Exelis said Wednesday.

The companies aim for organizations to use the unified platform to analyze agricultural, national security and environmental issues.

DigitalGlobe developed its Geospatial Big Data platform as a service to help developers create new global-scale geospatial applications.
