Raytheon has placed an $81.8 million order for satellite communications terminals from L-3 Communications for the Australian military.
L-3’s Global Communications Solutions and Linkabit business units will deliver Hawkeye and Panther VSAT terminals integrated with Linkabit’s modems to the client in 2015, L-3 said Tuesday.
The contract also calls for training services and options for additional terminals and equipment.
Bob Jacobson, president of L-3 GCS and L-3’s Tactical SATCOM sector, said the SATCOM terminals are certified for use on the wideband global SATCOM system.
“Australia is an emerging market for WGS-certified terminals and we look forward to building on the valued relationship we share with our Australian partners,†added Jacobson.
