collaborationWoolpert has expanded its partnership with Altavian, the Ohio/Indiana Unmanned Aircraft Systems Center and Test Complex and Sinclair College’s National UAS Training and Certification Center to facilitate the development of UAS for commercial operations in Ohio.

Under the agreement, the four organizations will work to advance the use of UAS in agriculture, resource management, airborne remote sensing, mapping and infrastructure surveillance, Woolpert said Tuesday.

The partnership is the result of the Section 333 exemption Woolpert has received from the Federal Aviation Administration that permits the use of UAS for commercial purposes, it added.

Woolpert also used the FAA exemption on April 28 to conduct flight operations using the Altavian-developed Nova 6500 Block 3 UAS for surveying and geospatial mapping activities.
