Mountain Secure Systems has received a two-year contract to develop and produce video management units for DRS Technologies' updated version of the Surveillance and Battlefield Reconnaissance Equipment system.
MSS said Wednesday its ruggedized 3U VPX platform has frame grabber cards, I/O modules, graphical processor units and single-board computers and is designed to support the operator's control station unit of SABRE.
SABRE contains laser systems, thermal imaging and radarsz and is designed to work with battle command networks, according to MSS.
DRS updated the SABRE platform as part of the Canadian Army Light Armored Vehicle Surveillance Program.
MSS is a subsidiary of Phillips Service Industries and develops wireless network outdoor platforms for data, voice and video applications and in-flight entertainment systems for installation on commercial planes.
