Accenture and Avanade have been selected to migrate the email service of England’s Health Department and Scotland’s National Health Service to a new cloud-based platform in a move to help social workers collaborate.
The companies will implement a new directory and Lync collaboration technology for instant messaging, voice over Internet protocol, audio and video communication, Accenture said Thursday.
The agreement was signed in June 2015 and is for a five-year term.
Aimie Chapple, managing director for Accenture’s U.K. health business, said the updated NHSmail service is intended to help “NHS employees exchange information, communicate and interact across healthcare.”
The new email service is based on Microsoft Exchange 2013.
