mobile-securityFLIR Systems has received a $19.5 million production order to build additional mobile surveillance systems for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The order covers a 12-month option period and the second under a five-year contract FLIR holds with CBP, the company said Tuesday.

FLIR will manufacture the mobile surveillance systems at its Elkridge, Maryland-based facility.

“We are pleased to provide these additional MSC integrated surveillance systems to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security,” said Andy Teich, president and CEO of FLIR.

The mobile surveillance and detection system features FLIR’s TacFLIR 380HD multi-sensor system and a long-range radar that is attached to a surveillance tower.
