DataPath to Bundle Terminals With Inmarsat Global Xpress Service; Susan Miller, David Myers Comment

Global-XpressRemote field communications firm DataPath will act as a provider of Inmarsat‘s Global Xpress satellite communications service to U.S. military and government customers for expeditionary use.

The companies said Monday a service provider agreement between DataPath and Inmarsat Government — the British satellite services firm’s U.S. government subsidiary — covers bundled offerings in cybersecurity, IT, global field support and network operations center services.

DataPath will combine its satellite terminals with the Global Xpress network and the companies expect military and commercial frequencies to be available to users by the end of this year.

Susan Miller, president and CEO of Inmarsat Government, said the subsidiary seeks to complement Global Xpress with DataPath’s mobile and tactical satellite systems and field support services.

“Our goal is to help our clients optimize their field communications, not just from a technology perspective, but also in terms of ease of procurement and support,” said David Myers, president and CEO of DataPath.
