networkAdvisory services firm Cambridge Global Advisors has obtained a commercial license for a new cybersecurity technology from the Department of Homeland Security“™s Science and Technology Directorate.

The network mapping software system developed by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory works to inform users on the devices that connect to their network, DHS said Wednesday.

The tool is intended to help organizations gain a complete view of their network activity in order to prioritize security measures.

Mike Pozmantier, DHS’ Transition to Practice program manager, said the program aims to “find technologies with the potential to strengthen our nation“™s cybersecurity posture and assist those technologies in making the difficult journey from the research lab to the commercial marketplace.“

The TTP initiative is scheduled to demonstrate its next technology for fiscal year 2015 in New York City on Aug. 19.
