Data Link SolutionsA joint venture of BAE Systems and Rockwell Collins will provide its Multifunctional Information Distribution System Low Volume Terminals to support voice and data communications for U.S. and allied forces under an $18.3 million contract.

Rockwell Collins said Wednesday the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command selected Data Link Solutions to deliver MIDS-LVT to the U.S. Navy, Air Force and Air National Guard as well as several foreign military sales customers.

“We’re helping to ensure that our troops and allies have access to the real-time information they need to complete their missions and operate with U.S. and coalition forces,” said Jack Stevens, product line director for communications and navigation solutions at BAE Systems.

MIDS-LVT works to facilitate real-time situational awareness for U.S. and NATO forces by supporting Link 16 data exchange networks, Rockwell Collins added.

Data Link Solutions will perform contract work in Iowa and New Jersey.
