Big Data, AppsThe U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has awarded Charles River Analytics a potential two-year, $1.5 million contract to help create methods for probabilistic modeling of military systems performance.

Charles River Analytics said Monday the project’s goal is to update model-based programming languages for military engineers to analyze and manage the operating behavior of mission-critical platforms such as minesweeping technology.

“We’re providing probabilistic extensions to the standard SysML systems modeling language and compiling it to our Figaro probabilistic programming language,” said Avi Pfeffer, principal scientist at Charles River Analytics.

The Figaro open-source application works to help users produce multiple probabilistic model development tools.
