northrop-Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman held several activities in the summer that aimed to promote cybersecurity careers among high school and college students.

The company conducted cyber camps from June through August in Colorado and Virginia, and on-the-job training for high school and college interns in partnership with local universities and high schools, Northrop said Tuesday.

Northrop also launched the Elementary School Education Initiative as part of the CyberPatriot National Youth Cyber Education program.

The initiative comprises modules designed to teach K-6 students safety practices online.

“Given the critical need for qualified cyber talent, we’re keeping the momentum going globally through fun, hands-on learning opportunities that will get youth excited about a career in this dynamic field,” said Diane Miller, director of CyberPatriot programs and director of InfoSec operations and cyber initiatives at Northrop Grumman.

The company also hired more than 40 cyber interns in the United Kingdom.
