Northrop to Develop Long-Range Radar for Army Recon Plane - top government contractors - best government contracting event

northrop-Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman will build a synthetic aperture radar/ground moving target indicator system for the Airborne Reconnaissance Low-Enhanced aircraft under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with the U.S. Army.

The company said Thursday the long-range radar combines Vehicle and Dismount and Exploitation Radar and Active Electronically Scanned Array technology to bolster the ARL-E DHC-8 reconnaissance plane’s capabilities.

“The long-range radar is a natural fit into the Northrop Grumman family of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems and mission solutions,” said Steve McCoy, vice president of tactical sensor solutions at Northrop’s electronic systems business.

Northrop noted that the ARL-E Long-Range Radar is a new addition to its family of tactical radar products.
