ThalesRaytheonA joint venture of Thales Group and Raytheon has been awarded a contract to supply mobile radar systems to Latvia“™s armed forces.

ThalesRaytheonSystems said Wednesday it will deliver four Improved Sentinel AN/MPQ-64 F1 radars to Latvia.

Sentinel is a mobile, three-dimensional radar system intended for missile system coordination, infrastructure protection and airborne surveillance operations.

The phased-array radar platform also runs on the X-band frequency and is designed to work with the National Advanced Surface to Air Missile Systems.

Latvia“™s armed forces will use the Sentinel radars to help detect and monitor unmanned aerial systems, cruise missiles and other airborne threats.
