Max Peterson, a general manager at Amazon Web Services‘ global public sector business, has said the cloud computing market could create as many as 14 million new jobs during 2015, BusinessNewsAsia reported Wednesday.

“Cloud represents a huge opportunity for good jobs and economic development,” Peterson told the audience during his keynote speech Wednesday at Cloud Expo Asia in Singapore.

Peterson services as GM for partners, capture and contracts at AWS’ public sector business.

He added he believes the technology can help public and private sector organizations to increase operational efficiency, save money and address customer needs.

BusinessNewsAsia reports AWS launched a program to promote cloud technology learning in classrooms as part of the company’s efforts to help develop cloud computing professionals.
