DRS- ExecutiveMosaicDRS Technologies’ Canadian arm has been awarded a contract to provide integrated communications platforms for installation aboard the Canadian navy’s Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment ship.

DRS Technologies Canada will supply SHINCOM 3100 shipboard communications systems for the Royal Canadian Navy’s AOR program under a contract with shipbuilder Chantier Davie Canada and Project Resolve, DRS said Wednesday.

The SHINCOM 31000 platform has several components such as alarm and broadcast systems, secure and tactical voice switching terminals, networks systems and other communication tools mandated in Safety of Life at Sea regulations.

The communications system is used onboard the Canadian navy’s Halifax-class frigates and other international naval ships.

The AOR vessel will work to provide fuel, water, food, ammunition and spare parts for Canada’s naval forces.
