centurylink-logoFormer U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu has joined CenturyLink‘s board of directors.

Landrieu succeeds the late Fred Nichols, bringing the total number of board directors to 13, CenturyLink said Monday.

“I am confident she will be a valuable asset to our company as we continue to transform our business to meet competitive challenges and to better serve customers,” said Glen Post, CenturyLink CEO and president.

Landrieu was previously a state representative in Louisiana from 1980 to 1988, and a state treasurer from 1988 through 1996 before she served as a senator.
