Stephanie Hill, vice president and general manager of ship and aviation systems at Lockheed Martin’s mission systems and training business, has been appointed chairman of the Greater Baltimore Committee’s board of directors.

She will succeed David Warnock, co-founder and managing partner of Camden Partners, and will work to advance innovation and address issues the private sector faces in the Greater Baltimore region, GBC said Friday.

Hill will help “inspire ideas and action” as GBC works to implement new programs in the region, said Donald Fry, GBC president and CEO.

Hill, an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 list for 2015, currently sits on the board of Project Lead the Way, a nonprofit organization that works to provide science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs for K-12 students.

She has been a board member of GBC since 2008 and started her career at Lockheed Martin as a software engineer in 1987.
