Textron to Provide Radar Signal Simulator for Boeing KC-46 Tanker Preflight Tests - top government contractors - best government contracting event

KC46AA Textron business unit will provide its Model 527 radar signal simulator for “end-of-runway” and “walk-around” preflight testing of the U.S. Air Force‘s KC-46 tanker aircraft platform built by Boeing.

Textron‘s electronic systems business will apply Model 527 to check the operational readiness and threat recognition function of KC-46’s electronic warfare radar warning receiver systems, the company said Monday.

Steve Mensh, senior vice president and general manager for electronic systems at Textron, said the simulator technology works to support tests on large aircraft at a standoff range.

Lockheed Martin also picked Textron earlier this year to use Model 527 for the preflight tests on the F-35 fighter jet.
