electronic health record EHRThe Defense Health Agency has announced plans to use a portfolio of General Services Administration-run governmentwide acquisition contracts to buy commercial healthcare information technology products and services for the Defense Department.

The DHA said Tuesday in a FedBizOpps notice that it is considering placement of military health IT task orders on the Alliant, Alliant Small Business, 8(a) Streamlined Technology Acquisition Resources for Services II, VETS or Schedule 70 GWAC vehicle.

DHA and GSA have also partnered to establish a special item number for DoD-focused HIT offerings through the Schedule 70 program.

The two agencies will discuss the strategy with companies at an industry event that is scheduled to take place at GSA headquarters in Washington on Jan. 20.
