ThreatConnect, a threat intelligence platform provider, has obtained $16 million in a funding round led by the venture capital arm of SAP National Security Services, the Washington Post reported Wednesday.

Aaron Gregg writes ThreatConnect joins other Virginia-based cybersecurity startups that have recently attracted investments from venture capitalists.

Gregg reports threat intelligence platforms work as repositories that allow companies to share information on cyber threats and analyze threat data and intelligence.

Mark Testoni, president and CEO of SAP NS2, said he believes cyber startups turn to SAP NS2 as a venture capital investor as the company adopts a “longer-term view“ when it comes to cybersecurity.
