ArmorSource LW-ACHArmorSource is scheduled to deliver combat helmets to the U.S. Army this spring after it concluded the first article testing on the protective equipment.

The Lightweight Advanced Combat Helmet AS-505 is designed to protect the human body from back-face deformation and fragmentation and projectile threats, ArmorSource said Tuesday.

ArmorSource CEO Yoav Kapah said the 3-pound helmet will work to protect soldiers amid a set of “ballistic test protocols” that FAT presented.

The service branch expects the company to produce and deliver 105,000 helmets this year.
