Saab has been awarded a contract to supply and install technology for Croatia to perform surveillance missions along the country’s maritime boundaries.
The company will provide its CoastWatch coastal surveillance and border protection system to Croatia in an effort to help border police secure the country from potential intruders or threats, Saab said Wednesday.
CoastWatch is designed to gather data from radar sensors, automatic identification systems and thermal closed-circuit television cameras in real time.
The technology will work to detect and track ships at a distance of up to 62 miles as well as allow operators to gain 24/7 situational awareness, Saab noted.
Saab has partnered with engineering company Koncar to implement the surveillance platform at approximately 40 coastal areas of Croatia.
