John De Santis: HyTrust Forms Advisory Board in Govt Cloud Tech Market Push

technology-cyber-cloud-computerHyTrust has formed an advisory group to support the company’s efforts to accelerate adoption of cloud security and virtualization technologies in the federal sector.

The company’s federal advisory board comprises eight executives who have worked at civilian or defense agencies and companies that serve government clients, HyTrust said Thursday.

“HyTrust is truly fortunate to attract such an experienced group of advisors to help us enhance our position in the government market, and we thank them for this honor,” said Chairman and CEO John De Santis.

The Mountain View, California-based company offers virtual appliances designed to help organizations manage and secure cloud computing environments.

HyTrust is backed by companies such as Cisco, VMware, Intel, Fortinet and In-Q-Tel.

Maxar Technologies collaborated with Amazon Web Services to build a cloud-based computing technology designed to accelerate processing of global weather data at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, SiliconANGLE reported Tuesday. “We knew NOAA had capabilities of weather prediction models in traditional on-premises, big beefy high-performance supercomputers, but we wanted to do it in the cloud; we wanted to use AWS as a key partner,” said Travis Hartman, director of analytics and weather at Maxar.
