Vishal Chawla Joins Grant Thornton’s Cyber Risk Advisory Practice as Managing Principal

Vishal Chawla, a nearly 12-year veteran of Deloitte, has been appointed managing principal of the cyber risk advisory services practice at Grant Thornton.

Grant Thornton said Thursday that Chawla will be based at a company office in McLean, Virginia, and work with clients across the U.S.

“Cybersecurity threats are growing, the industry is ever-changing, and Vishal joins a team that aims to keep our clients a step ahead of these bottom-line issues,” said Srikant Sastry, national managing principal of Grant Thornton’s advisory practice.

Chawla has previously worked at Deloitte’s cyber risk practice and served in a senior manager role within the consulting services unit of Oblix (now an Oracle company).

He also held positions at IBM, Digital Equipment Corp. and Kellogg’s.
