The U.S. Army Contracting Command has sought information on a consortium with the capability to research and develop prototypes of command, control, communications, computer and cyber platforms for the Defense Department.
The service branch said in a FedBizOpps notice posted Feb. 3 the consortium will build prototypes under the “other transaction” agreement in order to reduce DoD's dependence on legacy systems and pursue weapon mitigation tools creation.
The Army expects the consortium to create, demonstrate and deploy platforms designed to address objectives and requirements for DoD Information Network, offensive and defensive cyberspace-related operations, automation and control systems, systems security and software and hardware performance analysis.
Potential applications of such platforms include situational awareness through cyber terrain visualization, information technology network protection, data storage and forensic analysis operations.
Responses to the sources sought notice are due March 4.
