New Autodesk Logo 1Autodesk has been awarded a $1.2 million contract with the U.S. Air Force to develop a model of the Tinker Air Force Base installation in an effort to assess the facility’s energy use.

The company will work to demonstrate a Rapid Energy Modeling tool for buildings at the Oklahoma-based facility in order to display a graphic presentation of the base’s energy consumption and determine the needed retrofit plan, Autodesk said Tuesday.

Emma Stewart, director of sustainability solutions at Autodesk, said the REM technology works to analyze energy consumption and plan energy-saving measures.

Autodesk will provide energy insights according to a building’s construction, geometry and local climate conditions under the REM approach.
