ApacheBoeing has ordered small tactical terminals from ViaSat for the Apache Guardian attack helicopter production line.

ViaSat will produce 90 link 16 tactical terminals for the fifth and sixth lots of Apache set for production over the next two years, ViaSat said Thursday.

“The AH-64E Apache award is a significant milestone for ViaSat in that it enables us to deliver critical communications capabilities for Army aviation while providing a logistically common solution for Link 16 needs across multiple applications,” said Ken Peterman, senior vice president and general manager of the government systems division at ViaSat.

The U.S. government previously picked the tactical terminals for Link 16 and the soldier radio waveform capability for Apache helicopters.
