Dell Unveils New Threat Protection Offering; Patrick Sweeney Comments

Dell has introduced a new advanced threat protection service intended to help customers protect their assets from sophisticated cyber threats.

The Dell SonicWALL Capture offering incorporates the VMRay Analyzer threat detection analysis engine and the Lastline breach detection platform to form a multi-layer cybersecurity tool, Dell said Monday.

Patrick Sweeney, vice president of product management and marketing at Dell’s security business, said the new threat protection service aims to help address organization’s “need to detect these threats across every key attack vector.”

The integrated service works to analyze files, bring attention to malicious file behavior and block malware at the gateway.

SonicWALL Capture also performs virtual sandbox analysis, system emulation and hypervisor-level analysis across different types of ecosystems.

Dell Security currently assesses the beta version of the product before the company moves to release the final product in mid 2016.
