EarthDigitalGlobe has signed a definitive agreement with an international defense and intelligence organization to provide the customer agency with direct access capacity on a commercial Earth observation satellite.

The contract will extend the agency’s access to high-resolution images from DigitalGlobe’s WorldView-3 satellite for an additional four years, the company said Wednesday.

WorldView-3 launched in August 2014 and is built to generate up to 30-centimeter super spectral imagery for government and industrial users.

DigitalGlobe has received $335 million in direct access capacity commitments from international defense and intelligence agencies for WorldView-3 and WorldView-4 that the company plans to launch in September.
