QTSQTS has received a government authorization to operate its Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas metropolitan region data center in recognition of the company’s compliance with data security requirements set by the Federal Information Security Management Act.

FISMA third-party party assessment organization Coalfire conducted an audit of the colocation and data center services QTS offers through the DFW facility based on the act’s latest version, QTS said Wednesday.

Oliver Schmidt, chief audit executive at QTS, said the FISMA authorization aims to reflect the company's efforts to help government and commercial clients protect their information technology infrastructure and data from potential cyber threats.

The Dallas-Fort Worth data center is a 700,000-square-foot facility based on a 54-acre campus that has a dual-fed onsite substation and fiber optic networks designed for carrier-neutral connectivity.
