alliance partnership connectTextron Systems‘ electronic systems unit will continue manufacturing radio frequency components for Lockheed Martin‘s electronic Consolidated Automated Support System under a U.S. Navy contract awarded in February 2015.

Textron said Tuesday its electronic systems business unit is scheduled to deliver 31 Radio Frequency Mission Equipment Kits in July.

The Rhode Island-based company said its RF MEK — one of the four primary eCASS station equipment racks –works to support mission readiness of navy aircraft and is set to be deployed in Navy carrier fleet and utilized in on-shore maintenance activities.

Textron noted Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger and Capt. Brian Jacobs, Navy program manager for the common aviation support equipment program office, spoke at Textron and Lockheed’s ribbon cutting ceremony following the completion of the Low Rate Initial Production I and II as well as the opening of Textron Systems Electronic Systems‘ eCASS test and production facility in Hunt Valley, Maryland.
