software engineeringVisualant and Intellicheck Mobilisa have signed an agreement for the latter company to have exclusive rights to the former’s patented ChromaID platform.

Visualant said Thursday that the ChromaID approach aims to help Intellicheck update its products with photonic technology for threat detection and document verification purposes.

ChromaID works to detect machine-readable chromatic identifiers with the use of Visualant’s developed Spectral Pattern Matching technology.

Ron Erickson, Visualant president and CEO, said that the company hopes to discover new breakthroughs with the ChromaID and take part in the multi-billion dollar market that works to address security issues.

“New technologies can protect both our way of life and our very lives. With each new terrorist attack the importance of new threat detection technology grows in importance,” he added.

Intellicheck offers identification services to the Defense Department and other law enforcement agencies.
