Avaya, India Telecom Minister to Discuss Rural Area Connectivity Expansion Plans; KT Rama Rao Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting event

AvayaLogo EbizAvaya has begun negotiations with India’s information technology and telecommunications minister for a possible digital and connectivity expansion in a rural state.

The company’s “Digital Telangana” plan has a goal to will deliver connectivity to 8.5 million households — equivalent to more than 32 million people — in the state and surrounding rural areas through the end of 2018, Avaya said Wednesday.

KT Rama Rao, India’s IT and telecommunications minister, said that recent legislation puts the country in a position to offer resources from Telangana as well as strategic locations for investors to certify.

Avaya International President Nidal Abou Ltaif noted several factors that could affect the move to continue including the company’s largest research and development center in Hyderabad.

She also highlighted the T-HUB partnership between the Telangana government and start-up ecosystem that works to promote entrepreneurship and create opportunities for technology that address fuel consumption issues.
