alliance-partnership-connectVermont-based Champlain College and the Office of Personnel Management marked the first anniversary of their partnership’s truED campaign.

OPM said Wednesday truED will continue to provide federal employees, spouses and eligible adult dependents online higher-education programs to close skills gaps in fields such as business management, executive leadership and cybersecurity.

“Through this partnership we hope to inspire agency leaders and federal employees to explore opportunities for professional growth and to enhance employee effectiveness within their agencies,” said Beth Cobert, acting director of OPM.

OPM added that nearly 1,800 students have taken nearly 3,500 courses since truED was launched in April 2015 and that Champlain College worked with federal agencies to expand its online academic portfolio, which now includes master’s programs in information security operations and business administration.

The agency also recognized the program at the “Federal Workforce 2020: Turning Today’s Experience into Tomorrow’s Talent” event, where OPM and the college discussed future changes to truED, including additional graduate-level course offerings, tuition reimbursement policies and veterans’ benefits.
