Jacobs - ExecutiveMosaicThe U.S. Air Force has awarded a $36.5 million contract to Jacobs Engineering Group to provide systems engineering support for the Patriot Excalibur software.

Jacobs said Wednesday the three-year contract also requires software maintenance and field implementation support for the PEX software.

Darren Kraabel, Jacobs senior vice president for aerospace and technology, said the company aims to integrate Agile software development with the acquisition requirements and policies of the Defense Department and the Air Force.

PEX works to manage the operations of more than 1,000 flying, non-flying and ISR units and uses cloud and mobile technologies.

It is designed to optimize a squadron organization‘s information sharing capability and situational awareness, Jacobs noted.
