NEC Corporation of America and Government Acquisitions Inc. have delivered the NeoScan45 mobile identification device to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
ICE plans to integrate two- and 10-print mobile biometric collection into its existing systems in efforts to enable biometrics data collection in the field, NEC said Mar. 28.
Field support works to facilitate officer decision-making at the point of encounter, the company added.
Raffie Beroukhim, NEC vice president for the biometrics solutions division, said NeoScan45 is a handheld device that works to capture up to 10 fingerprints of both the roll and flat types.
Aside from ICE, GAI also supports the delivery of information technology products and services to the Defense Department and civilian government agencies through various contract vehicles, NEC noted.
