Parsons‘ $2.3 billion Salt Waste Processing Facility project in South Carolina has received an award from the Energy Department for the company’s project management practices.

Deputy Energy Secretary Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall presented the award in recognition of the company’s efforts to complete the project at an earlier date and limit costs, Parsons said Friday.

Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons group president and an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2016, said the company works to meet time, budget, safety and quality standards for the delivery of the SWPF project.

Parsons leads the design, construction, commissioning and initial operations of the SWPF project, which aims to process liquid waste materials and separate the highly radioactive cesium and actinides from the salt solution for proper disposal to mitigate public safety and environment risks.
