FLIR SystemsFLIR Systems has introduced two ground surveillance platforms the company designed to help military organizations secure borders and protect troops, United Press International reported Wednesday.

Richard Tomkins writes the company unveiled its LTV-X light tactical vehicle and the Ranger R6SS portable radar at the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference held in Florida.

“Both products are designed to maximize detection, responsiveness and reliability in situations that demand the highest performance,” Kevin Tucker, vice president and general manager of FLIR’s surveillance business, was quoted as saying by UPI.

A reconnaissance vehicle, LTV-X incorporates sensors such as the TacFLIR multispectral turret and the Ranger R6SS ground surveillance radar and works to control and disseminate real-time imagery with its onboard command-and-control system, according to the report.

The report said the R6SS radar is built to monitor personnel and vehicles and to help operators connect various vehicles, sensors and unmanned aerial system to a command center.
