general-dynamics-logo2General Dynamics has secured a $14.8 million cost-plus-fixed fee contract from the U.S. Air Force to create a Shadow Compass software prototype designed to correlate geospatial and signals intelligence, as well as cyber indicators and warning data streams.

The Defense Department said Friday the Air Force will obligate $4.7 million from fiscal 2015 and 2016 research, development, test and evaluation funds.

DoD added that General Dynamics will conduct development, design and other services, including program test and demonstration, in Oakton, Virginia, with a projected end date of May 2018.

The contract resulted from a competitive acquisition with two offers received.
