Orbital ATK has received orders worth $210 million to produce three kinds of small caliber ammunition to the U.S. Army.
The orders are for 5.56-millimeter, 7.62-millimeter and .50 caliber rounds and fall under a previously awarded ammunition supply contract, Orbital ATK said Tuesday.
Dulles, Virginia-based Orbital ATKÂ will perform work at the Independence, Missouri-located Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.
Orbital ATK and its predecessor company ATK have produced nearly “15 billion rounds of small caliber ammunition” for U.S. and international defense customers since 2000.
The Army has worked with the company to implement new technology at the Lake City factory.
