Cloud securityBooz Allen Hamilton has launched a set of security platforms designed to help government agencies and companies protect data workloads and applications in cloud environments from potential cyber attacks.

The company's Virtual Cloud Defense consists of open source-based, commercial-off-the-shelf platforms that work to help users implement security controls and perform situational awareness operations, Booz Allen said Tuesday.

Chris Christou, director of secure cloud at Booz Allen, said the company's product suite is designed to help cloud users operate and defend cloud-based data and multiple applications from security vulnerabilities.

The company said the Virtual Cloud Defense platform also aims to help organizations comply with government and security standards, including the Federal Information Security Management Act, the Defense Department's Cloud Security Requirements Guide and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards.
