technology, cyber, cloud, computerDell and Software AG have launched an Internet of Things architecture offering intended to help enterprise customers analyze real-time data from networks, devices and sensors.

The integrated offering combines Dell’s Edge Gateway 5000 Series and an embedded version of Software AG’s Apama Streaming Analytics to support real-time analytics at the edge of the network, Software AG said Wednesday.

The combination works to moderate cost related to the volume of traffic from industrial IoT sensors and the use of central servers, the company added.

Dell and Software AG also jointly released a blueprint to help companies respond to challenges they encounter when they conduct predictive maintenance to address the issue of perishable data from IoT.

The goal is to transmit only the meaningful data to the cloud to help reduce network bandwidth use.

Jason Shepherd, director of strategy and partnerships at Dell, said the partnership aims to help enterprises deploy IoT analytics at a shorter time.
