Harry Buchanan Joins Kopin as Defense Applications BD Director

Kopin LogoHarry Buchanan, previously North American business development manager at Excelitas Technologies, has joined Kopin Corp. as its new business development director for defense applications.

Kopin said Wednesday Buchanan will report directly to Bill Mafucci, government programs vice president and general manager.

“The addition of Harry Buchanan, with his extensive experience in the defense industry, to this newly created position on the Kopin team will enhance our ability to expand our products into new generations of weapon systems,” said John Fan, Kopin CEO.

Buchanan has at least 24 years of experience through his work with defense contractors in engineering, program management and business development, as well as in the development and production of head-mounted and hand-held surveillance systems optics and wearable, hand-held and rifle-mounted night vision systems.

He joined ITT Corp. in 1992 and later served as business development manager for all Army and Marine Corps business at the defense spinoff company Exelis.
