technology-cyber-cloud-computerScience Applications International Corp. and the Huntsville, Alabama public school district have jointly launched a cyber educational program under a three-year, $300,000 commitment in an effort to help foster future cyber workers.

SAIC and the school system introduced the Cyber Academy initiative at the National Cyber Summit and company cyber professionals will supply cyber curriculum input for students who will enroll in the program for the school year 2016-2017, SAIC said Thursday.

“Our employees are eager to begin working with administrators, educators, and especially the students to implement these programs in the coming months,” said John Gully, SAIC’s senior vice president for market strategy and investments.

Students enrolled in the Cyber Academy initiative will be eligible to receive college credits and certifications from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
