Intellicheck MobilisaIntellicheck Mobilisa has received a $250,000 contract to install company-made identification authentication technology at a classified federal government facility located in Washington, D.C. to help security personnel protect highly-sensitive infrastructure.

The company’s Defense ID platform works to help security personnel authenticate the identity of visitors, vendors and employees that enter a restricted site, Intellicheck Mobilisa said Wednesday.

Defense ID is designed to send security alerts about potential threats after the system compares a visitor’s identification card information with Intellicheck’s databases that contain information from public and government data sources.

William Roof, Intellicheck CEO, said the company aims to help customers gain situational awareness of physical security threats with the Defense ID technology.

Building security personnel can use the platform’s rules-based engine to set visit times for specific areas of a facility, Intellicheck added.
