CAMRIS International has won a $32.7 million contract to perform field and laboratory research support for the Naval Medical Research Unit 3 in the area of emerging infectious diseases.
The Defense Department said Friday the company will also provide management support between the U.S. government and potentially foreign personnel based in Egypt and other countries under the contract.
NAMRU-3 performs research and surveillance to help military personnel deployed to Africa, the Middle East and Southwest Asia evaluate vaccines, therapeutic agents, diagnostic assays and vector control measures.
Locations and funding for the contract will depend on each order and the company will carry out work through Aug. 25, 2021.
CAMRIS provides program and research management services to help customers address health and development requirements.
The Army received five bids for the contract via the internet.
